New York's Attorney General has turned his attention to Sony BMG's copyright-protection fiasco
" Sony BMG Music Entertainment is getting a lot of unwanted attention for its use of copyright-protection software that left CD users open to computer viruses. It began with the bloggers, who shed light on the matter, and has spread to the scads of consumers who have used the Internet to urge a boycott of Sony BMG CD's."
According to bussines week the company , the artists and the distributors are all paying the price of one of the worst copy protection, cutomer relations fiascoes of the last 20 years.
This is for sony the equivalent of the exxon valdez and I for one plan to join the many people who will rejoice when they lose their case in Texas and NY and end up paying through the nose to protect their content.
Is piracy a real and big enough problem?
Yes
Is this the best way to protect against piracy?
Obviously not.
Bad things happend to bad companies that treat their customers badly.
